DESCRIPTION:We all desire for young people to encounter Christ and to follow Him. \nPriests are invited to join the Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship and Andrew Ministries for this important discussion on the Archdiocese of Boston’s vision for youth ministry on September 11th.  Then\, plan on coming back with your parish teams (staff and volunteers) to one of the sessions (9/26\, 9/27\, or 9/28) that works best for you. \n  \nThe Catholic Church is losing our young people and our future depends on reversing this trend. Effective ministry to young people does not depend upon large budgets and paid staff to meet the needs of our youth. All pastors/priests/clergy are encouraged to attend a presentation on “The Art of Forming Young Disciples\,” by leading youth ministry expert\, Everett Fritz. During this presentation\, we will begin to discuss our long-term strategy for youth and campus ministry in the Archdiocese and how we are preparing to support this effort.

Since 2020\, he has served as Secretary for the New Evangelization for the Diocese of Fall River\, aiding parishes in the areas of evangelization\, catechesis and parish life. Holding a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Fordham University and his Bachelors from Siena College\, he resides in Fall River with his wife and three young children.

DESCRIPTION:Do you want your parish or other faith community to be intentionally positioned for the work of evangelization and to form disciples? If so\, please consider inviting a team of disciples (led by your pastor/leader) to take time away to prayerfully discern a pastoral plan for your community. \nAt this two-day (not overnight) intensive session\, teams will spend time in prayer for their communities\, reflect on the strengths and areas of opportunity for growth\, and discern a vision and set of goals to bring back to their wider communities. DESCRIPTION:Why recreate the wheel when you can benefit from the wisdom and experience of your peers? \nPlease plan on joining us for a virtual lesson swap! Like a cookie swap\, you can bring your favorite lesson plan and come away with lessons from other faith formation leaders. \nThe meeting will take place from 9:30am-11:00am and will be divided into 3 sections: we’ll spend 30 minutes on each of these 3 different age groups: K-8\, Middle School\, High School. \nIf you’d like to participate\, consider sharing a lesson plan that has borne fruit\, been a “homerun”/outside of the box\, is not curriculum based\, and contains content that is in line with our beautiful Church teaching. \nThe sample template is offered as a guide on the type of information to include in the lesson plan. Please submit your lesson plan to rmaffei@rcab.org by 1/27/23. At the meeting\, please plan to spend about 5 minutes explaining the background/context of your lesson plan to the others in attendance. \nWhile we are excited to learn from one another and have some fun at the lesson swap\, the specific lesson plans shared are not necessarily endorsed/approved by RCAB. \nWe are hopeful that this lesson swap offers you a fun way to share with other leaders\, learn from one another\, and save some much-needed time so that you can truly focus on creating programs rooted in providing encounters with Christ and building relationships to help each person grow closer to Him in and through His Church. \nRegister here!
