Resources Virtual Evangelization

Evangelization, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with all people, is about an encounter. It is about our own encounter with the person of Jesus, our yes to friendship with Him, and inviting others to their own encounters.

This happens primarily and most importantly in-person; however, we know that the Lord uses all mediums for His purposes, including virtual spaces. With that in mind, here we share a variety of resources for fostering a spirit of encounter, for continuing the work of evangelization, in our increasingly virtual and remote world.

Giving

Consider ways of supporting Catholic Charities Boston or local food pantries near you.
Write letters – yes with actually written words – to friends or families. Consider doing so especially for those who are elderly to offer a word of encouragement. Enclose a picture of you and your family.
Check in with those who have family members in hospice or who have recently died.
Write a note of gratitude and support to our priests! Start with the priests of your parish, but consider writing to senior priests living in retirement (such as those who are Regina Cleri Residence).
Consider giving to the Propagation of the Faith to support missionaries throughout the world, especially in these challenging times.
Give to a pregnancy help center or a home for mothers (see this brochure for a starting point).
Don’t forget apologizing goes a long way. Apologize or forgive someone today whom you have had a falling out with in the past or had a tense moment with today.
Pray with and for someone – either in-person or over the phone, Facebook Live, Zoom, Facetime, Google Hangouts or any other digital communication tool.
Please remember to give to your parish!
Bring food to a food pantry.
Go grocery shopping for an elderly person or someone who is disabled.
Write or call an elderly loved one. Many of our older loved ones often feel isolated and lonely.

Talk with someone else about God’s love for you and them. Help them to be aware of and to “receive” His love in these difficult times.

Reach out to someone, who might not have a relationship with God, and tell them you are praying for them.
