Want Youth to Love Jesus?

So do we. Together, we can make a difference.

Our method: relational youth ministry where adult disciples disciple youth in small groups.

We pulled together some of the best resources around youth ministry for any adult disciple who has a heart for working with young people and a desire to serve them in the parishes and communities of the Archdiocese of Boston. The content we’ve created is designed to help you (yes, you!) launch effective discipling of youth throughout your parish.

Relational Ministry

How do we help youth love Jesus?

We go to them, interact with them, accept them as they are, and show them how we live our life as followers of Jesus.

The youth today long to belong, to be accepted, and to have someone to talk life out with. We need adult disciples – who are crazy in love with Jesus  and want to work with you – to commit 1 hour a week to spend time with a small group of youth to accompany them.

We are not asking for you to start a youth ministry. We are asking you to disciple the youth around you and share with them why you follow Jesus and how you do it.

Accompaniment

for Youth Ministry Leaders, Volunteers, and Parishes

We walk with you in the mission of forming young disciples.
Through prayer, coaching, and community, we accompany youth ministry leaders, volunteers, and parishes across the Archdiocese – strengthening hearts, sharing resources, and building a network of support so that young people encounter Christ alive in his Church.

Our Goals:

  • Support Parishes in Building Strong Teams
Accompany and support parishes in forming committed teams of adults who can evangelize, disciple, and walk with young people as they grow in holiness, evangelize their peers, and lead others to Christ.

  • Identify and Equip Local Leaders
Encourage every parish to identify at least two adult disciples who will intentionally accompany young people on a journey of discipleship—in every parish by May 2027.

  • Foster a Community of Prayer and Spiritual Growth
Provide spiritual formation and support for clergy, staff, and volunteers—creating a shared community of prayer and mutual encouragement as we grow in holiness together.

  • Offer Human and Pastoral Formation
Host workshops, trainings, and seminars to help parish leaders understand today’s young people, recruit and form adult mentors, and develop skills in accompaniment, listening, and small-group ministry.

  • Deepen Intellectual and Theological Understanding
Provide opportunities for clergy, staff, and volunteers to grow in their understanding of Church teaching and gain practical strategies for evangelizing and catechizing youth in today’s world.

The Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship is committed to walking with parishes across the Archdiocese of Boston to disciple youth through adult discipleship and intentional adult formation.

Let’s Work Together.

The discipling youth begins when faithful adults say “yes” to leading the next generation to Christ. We’re here to walk with you— every step of the way.
