Into the Deep

Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.
Though tired and disheartened, Simon Peter answers Jesus’s call to “put out into the deep”. His simple “yes” would not only fill his net, but also his heart. As Peter draws up the fish, Jesus draws Peter to himself. The Lord desires to draw all of us to himself through the Eucharist. As Archbishop Henning put it, “The whole point of the Eucharist is to draw us to the heart of God.”
Into the Deep is a procession by which the Archbishop will bring Jesus in the Eucharist to the shores of the Archdiocese of Boston to draw all people into the loving, merciful heart of God.
Let us put out into the deep so the Lord can draw us in.
