Into the Deep
Inspired by the 2024 National Eucharistic Congress, Archbishop Richard Henning sought to create an experience of encounter with the Eucharist for the people of the Archdiocese of Boston through Into the Deep. The archbishop never imagined that two short years later, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage would come to eastern Massachusetts.
Archbishop Henning invites all those originally intending to participate in Into the Deep 2026 to join the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage as it passes through several historic locations in our archdiocese this summer. He looks forward to making his way down the coast of the South Shore in 2027!

Allow Jesus to land on the shores of your hearts.
Inspired by the 2024 National Eucharistic Congress, Archbishop Richard Henning sought to create an experience of encounter with the Eucharist for the people of the Archdiocese of Boston. Tapping into the area’s rich maritime history, he boarded a boat on Corpus Christi weekend 2025 for the inaugural Into the Deep, where he brought Jesus in the Eucharist to eleven stops along the North Shore and the Boston Harbor.
As he disembarked, he remarked to the crowds, “I invite all of us this day to notice the truth that Jesus has come to this shore for you and to allow him to land on the shores of your hearts.” As we prepare to welcome Jesus on the shores of the South Shore in 2027, may we also continue to welcome him into our own hearts.
Jesus has come to this shore for you.
